How We Got Started

The idea for this business was conceived after my own mother, Maryan Feingold, may she rest in peace, suffered her second stroke at age 89. She had lived independently and vivaciously for all of the prior years, and yet, the time had come for her to have someone stay with her. She resisted, as all parents do, but she was no longer safe to live alone. I searched for the right person, alone, without resources available, and went through several caregivers until I found “the right one”. I didn’t know where to turn – who does? This is not an area we are ever prepared for. I have nightmare stories of people I hired through unknown agencies. I finally went to a friend, and was given a personal referral, to the wonderful woman who gave my mother the best three years of her life before she passed away on February 15, 2006, my partner in this venture, Tess Reveche.

During those few years, through my partner, I was able to meet and become associated with, many qualified and compassionate men and women, dedicated to caregiving, and to bettering the quality of life, who are now affiliated with our company. It is our goal to make those caregivers available to you, and your family, at this most difficult time, so that stress and a sense of overwhelm do not prevail.

Before my mother passed away, Tess and I promised to continue this work, to bring quality and integrity to people whose lives are in transition, perhaps short term following an operation, or longterm. I promised myself that no one should ever have to struggle the way I did, confused and feeling alone, trying to find assistance, and that goal has been realized with the founding of Adult Care Unlimited LLC. Since the inception of the company, the scope of our services has broadened, from the simplest companion care to hospice care. We are proud of the work that we do, and proud that our vision has given hope and joy to many clients, and their families.
